A recognisable logo is something that can help your school stand out from the crowd, look more professional, and so build trust with prospective students.
You don't need a logo to teach an online class of course, but for getting students, it's a real must. Your logo image can be used on your website, as your facebook profile, or even to watermark your class materials.
Don't worry - a logo doesn't need to be expensive, intimidating, or time-consuming! There are plenty of options for people with all levels of graphic design skills. Let's lay them out below:
There are plenty of automatic logo generators online. Beware though, lots of these say that they are free, but then you have to pay to download the logo file you spent time creating.
One that definitely is free (at the time of writing) is Jimdo's logo creator. It's very easy to use - You just fill in some details, answer some questions, and it generates a load of options for you to choose from. When you find one you like, you can customise it even further, and download all the files you need for free. We used it to make the original GMS logo.
logo.e.jimdo.com - Jimdo also have a website builder which is cheap, easy to use, and has a free version. It will offer you a free site when you create your logo, and it is one of the site builders I recommend for beginners, but it's not compulsory.
